Major Thomas Wallace is a 27-year veteran of the Boynton Beach Police Department who currently commands the operations of the Uniformed Patrol Division, SWAT, K9, Marine Patrol and the Police Training Officer Unit.Major Wallace began his career in public service in 1979, when he enlisted in the U. Navy, where he specialized in orthopedics and then served as a member of a surgical team aboard the USS Belleau Wood (LHA-3).In 2004, Katz was promoted to the rank of lieutenant, where he served as a watch commander until being tapped by then incoming Chief Matt Immler to lead the offices of internal affairs, training, media relations, recruiting, grant procurement, agency accreditation, promotional assessments, public records fulfillment and grievance coordination. in Business Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.After graduating with a BA in Criminal Justice from St. Chief Katz is currently working on his doctoral dissertation which seeks to measure the effects of malicious rumoring on the leadership / followership relationship. During his studies, Chief Katz has done extensive research in: destructive leadership behavior, organizational incivility, mobbing, and corporate psychopathy.In October 2013, she was permanently appointed to the position.
