She slicks on some lipstick, brushes her cheeks with rouge, affixes an earring and descends a staircase, Mae West style, in a slinky white dress. w=1024&h=683 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" / But adjusting to Amy’s new grooming habits this season has been a learning curve for the London, Ont., native — and her fans are quick to notice.A few scenes later, she’s back at Heartland ranch in Alberta awaiting a blissful family reunion. “This year, as part of the changes for my character, they wanted me to have beautiful nails and that’s something I have never ever had.When I got Heartland, I thought, well this is kind of ironic. “I love the show and I’m excited to continue it as long as it runs, but I’m also excited for life after Heartland. I’m really into real estate and things like that, so I’ll continue with my rental properties and maybe able to take on a little more,” she muses.
"He has a lot on the go, just like me," Amber says.
No matter what lies ahead for her character on the small screen, Amber's own long-running love story has just begun.
But when they find the plucky horse whisperer at the start of Heartland’s eighth season, they might not even recognize her.
As the CBC family drama opens, Amy is in full-on bombshell mode in Paris, there to work the World Equestrian Games with Prince Ahmed.
Wearing a strapless gown by Private Label by G and carrying a lilac bouquet arranged by her grandmother, Amber made a stunning entrance on her horse, Hawk, riding sidesaddle as her father - who only learned to work with the horse moments before the ceremony - held the reigns. "The applause made the horses a little nervous," recalls Amber. After tucking into a meal prepared by the same caterers who work on , Amber's off- and on-set families mingled.
