Problem is, While a normal card swap works (putting the old Card into the new box) the Sky Sports packages don't work.
I tried a rebuild has not worked really hope this does.
Sounds like the hard drive on its way out I'm afraid.
Software corruption on the flash memory in the boxes does occur and it is impossible to completely prevent this happening - cosmic radiation (although this will be quite uncommon) and electrical spikes on the mains etc.
Which is VERY, VERY rare - I suspect in almost all cases the only reason doing a forced update appears to cure a problem is that it performs a system reset.
, which will have already received the latest update - apart from the occasional reversion to the previous version (during the early dates of a new automatic release). just look at the recent posts from people franticly trying to get the newer EPG version - doing forced updates all the time even though it would make no difference.
